I first heard the word brutiful while reading Glennon Doyle’s Untamed.
Side note: If you have not read the book or heard of Glennon Doyle, I highly suggest you fix that now! Stop what you’re doing (yes, I know you’re reading this post, but stop. I’ll forgive you this once) and buy the book. And while you’re at it, subscribe to her podcast: We Can Do Hard Things.
Now that you’re back and have fixed a part of your life…
The word brutiful seems to capture the essence of life perfectly.
Life is brutal, hard, and messy. It’s constantly challenging you, shaking you, flipping you upside down, throwing you something difficult to deal with.
And in the same breath, it is utterly and breathtakingly beautiful. It’s filled with vibrant colors, fragrant flowers, beautiful landscapes, joyful laughter, life-giving connections, delicious foods, amazing books and music.
Brutal + Beautiful = Brutiful.
Finding the beauty in life in the midst of the brutality is incredibly difficult.
That’s what this blog is about. It’s working to come back to ourselves. Finding the beauty in our lives and in who we are despite the brutal cards we’ve been handed and what society tells to do/be/have.
I would love for you to join me on this journey of life and find some beauty together.
Let’s dive (or tip-toe) in!
